Pretty for Pennies is a 32 Page Booklet,
that one might make the mistake of taking to seriously. But this book
contains a surprising amount of information inside of its Pages. At
first inspection though, I knew this book, its contents and pages
would work well for me. Small enough to not be overwhelming, and to
be comfortable in any room in the house, This is more than a booklet,
but a handy reference Guide packed full of Recipes for Beauty and
personal care items, and ample frugal tips for making the most of
your dollar in this area.
This book is easy to read, the recipes are not only practical
and simple to use, but the majority of the ingredients are either
Already on your shelf at home, or are easy to find. There are only
a couple of ingredients that I found that I would not readily find
in my home town,But Tawra gives great sources to get this ingredients,
and even better these ingredients are usually used in more than
one of her recipes, making it practical to purchase them. No purchasing
an expensive ingredient that you might never use again!!
For me personally the value of this book, is it's simplicity.
It makes it easy to use and reuse, and yet is packed full of recipes
and fantastic tips, in an area where frugality is often ignored.
There are no complex recipes or techniques to master, if you can
stir and use a Microwave you will get the full value out of this
book. The Recipes are truly fantastic, and the ingredients are basic
and all natural.
I tried the hot oil treatment, I had the two ingredients in my
kitchen cupboards. It worked every bit as well as the on the shelf
treatments and at a fraction of the price. There are recipes for
Lip Balms and glosses, Bath treats of all sorts, Hair care tips,
and treatments, Massage oils and Lotions, and Practical Hand soaps
and cleaners,as well as Toothpaste and much, much more.
So if you love to pamper yourself, But don't have the cash, ever
wanted a spa treatment but could not justify the cost, or just wanted
simple alternatives to expensive Products, then this book is definitely
for you.It has definately earned it is way onto my shelf of most
used books, and quickly becoming a well worn friend.
If you go to Tawra's web site, you will find some sample recipes,
and you can purchase the book for just $5.95, including shipping,
a frugal bargain and a great idea to slip into gift baskets or as
a stocking stuffer!!!
