It’s been way too long since my last post. I’ve been super busy with work and haven’t done nearly as much exploratory cooking as I used to.

I was thinking about fish and chips for some reason and did my usual googling to see what recipes sound good. Since I always think of fish and chips as a British food, I tried to find some recipes that sounded authentic. It was not as easy as I thought but I did find a few good ones by using the site: feature of Google to narrow the search down to only sites that end in co.uk. My search was something like: site:co.uk pub fish and chips.

While I was looking for recipes, I came across something else that sent me down a rabbit hole for a long time. That was this thing called fruit machines. Apparently, there are a type of slot machines in the UK in pubs and other places called fruit machines that are more than just pulling a handle. I didn’t really understand all the things you can do but it sounds interesting since I never heard anything like it in the US. I found this link that explains how fruit machines work. I also came across this site called pocket fruity that has fruit machines you can play online. Crazy stuff.

Well, I never actually made the fish and chips. After reading through a bunch of recipes I decided it was too much work and went down to a local pub that does a damn good job. No fruit machines, though.

Horaayy..there are 2 comment(s) for me so far ;)

There is a cool food blog that mixes great recipes with a touch of celebrity. It’s one of my favorites and I like passing it along to my favorite blogs, like yours. I hope you will “Like” “Cooking With Mr. C.” on Facebook. Keep up the great work !! Jennifer G. New Jersey
